FUN FUN FUN! I had a blast at this show. Maybe it's because I love drag queens. Maybe it's because I love big showy numbers with high kicks and clap worthy beats. Or maybe it's because I went in with the correct amount of expectations. I wasn't expecting it to be Les Miserables or Next To Normal. I went in hoping to have a great time like when I went to see Priscilla Queen of the Desert or La Cage Aux Folles (seeing the trend?) Anywho, every dragette in this show WERKD! The show started out slow but as soon as Lola came on stage, it was a SHOW! I recommend it to anyone! Seriously!
Annaleigh Ashford was amazing. I've heard mixed things about her in the past (she plays the same character, she's hamming it up) but I loved her. I think she'll get a nom for this little part though it was very small.
We rushed this show and I had to arrive by 8:40 AM. I think I was about 25th in line. They didn't start selling tickets until 10 AM and it was cold as balls out so you can imagine how miserable I was. Tickets were $39 and we got partial view in the box, but I only missed a couple of things (not worth complaining about) and my mom had a great view. We were in the right box, and we were in the 4th row back. The theater was PACKED so we couldn't move! I want to see it again.
